Bearberry Area Structure Plan

Update April 1, 2008
Bearberry growth focuses around Community Hal

Medium density development will be allowed in the area around the Bearberry Community Hall, according to the Bearberry Red Deer River Corridor Area Structure Plan, approved by Mountain View County council.
As part of the permitted land uses in the Bearberry Community Centre area, one of four land use areas defined in the plan, up to 20 residential lots can be subdivided from a quarter section for residential development.
According to steering committee chair Nila Stringer, the opportunity to work with county and the consultants was a great experience, as was the ability to have an impact on the future of the community.
The feedback from the residents of the area made the intire process worthwhile and the committee belives they have developed a document that will serve the community well.

Update May 30, 2007
Many of you have probably already received your thick envelope from the County, with the summary info from our Visioning workshop, along with the survey for the next phase.

You may also be interested in taking a look at the Bergen info ... which is similar in many ways to the Bearberry info as well. Makes for interesting reading ... and you may find some ideas you might want to incorporate into further comments about the Bearberry plan. The County has a hot link on it's website. Please click www.mountainviewcounty.com/landuse.html. Once you are on this page, scroll down almost to the bottom of the page, to: Bergen and Bearberry Area Visioning Reports and Community Surveys: You'll find the Visioning Report and the Community Survey for both Bearberry and Bergen.

Many people in Bearberry are not on the net ... if your neighbour falls into that group, perhaps you could share what you find with them.
